What makes it look like people are trying too hard to be 'emo'?

When I see people wearing all the big rubber bracelets and the black lipstick and the arm warmers I automatically think they are trying too hard. Because they wouldn't be wearing any of that if they didn't know it was the 'emo' thing to do and if more famous emo's didn't start doing it first. What do you guys think? o.0.

I think it's questions like that and the complete and utter ignorance they seem to have towards their attitudes and perspectives. For instance they will try to hard and not realize that this isn't them or it isn't for them yet they continue out of a sense of individuality .

It depends on who they are. Maybe they do like to wear tons of rubber bracelets (or things on their arms, for that matter) with teased hair and black lip stick.

 

Or maybe they're pretending to be "emo"

 

Either way, it's their choice. If they want to look like they're trying too much, go ahead little emo kid. I'll even make you a medal :3 Lol
