What does Emo mean to you?

so i have this page on facebook and I have liked Emo pages. Some people I know say that you're a poser if you call yourself an emo that kinda pissed me off but anyway...what do you guys think is emo and just why? Thanx for the input

Well emo is a state of mind to me.

Emo is being different and misunderstood. Its liking different stuff and having different opinions and different views on life.

Calling yourself emo is kind of a scream for attention to me honestly.

Sides, emo is a genre of music. The term you are looking for I believe(in regards to style and mindset) is a cross between goth and scene. But you can call it goth.

Calling someone a "poser" is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard of.

No one is a "poser" You listen to certain music or you dress a certain way. But you are still you. Down here, people dress "emo" and listen to rock but they also listen to Kevin Gates or Mac Miller. That doesn't make them a "poser" they just like rap too. That's also like calling a "prep" who wears skinny jeans and vans/converse and listens to hardcore rock a "poser" Their not. It's just want they like.
