Is it against "emo code" to like rap?

Jw, seems like all of you guys have some sort of unwritten rule that NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO LISTEN TO RAP if you want to be a part of this lil emo clique thing. Be more open minded, don't think of nicki minaj and drake when you think of rap, there's tons out there.

Does it matter if someone says you can't be in this clique if you like rap? If you like rap, fucking listen to it. If someone cares enough about your music preferences to bring it up, they need to address bigger issues.

Supposedly, being "emo" means you are "being yourself". So like what you like.

 

Although Im not "emo" I listen to quite a bit of rap, including Eminem, Dr.Dre, this one MC called Bizzle, Macklemore, Intelligentz... And a few others.

Emo code? There's no "Emo code". Emo is different things to different people, within a certain framework of course. I would be quick to point out though,

that rap is certainly not of the Emo music genre (obviously). I personally do not like rap at all, but I love Emo.
