Ive lost tons of friendships, but thats because people grow out of friendships over time. Theyre not particularly bad people, you just grow apart. Everyone must have someone to talk to, to confide in, to look to for comfort; a shoulder to cry on. You want a best friend to execute your great ideas with and to push you through with the things you aren't so confident about doing. You want a best friend to go all in with, and take the cinnamon challenge together so you wont be the only one who fails. You need a best friend. So when the world feels like it's breaking down they will be the ones standing there with duct tape. You need a best friend when a piece of paper isn't good enough to hold all of your secrets. You need a best friend when your heart is broken, and even though they aren't a surgeon they manage to pull a miracle. Ask me if I believe in best friends, and I will probably tell you..always. Everyone in their life time has a negative experience with someone they thought was they're best friend (trust me I've had like 7 experiences) but that doesn't mean you should give up on having one. It great to have a best friend, especially one that gets you, you've known for a long time and is ALWAYS willing to hang out and talk. Every time you fucking whine for sympathy the oppertunity to make friends arrives but you hard heads choose not to pleased with others. Sure hipsters and normal people aren't good enough for you. You want to be alone and misunderstood and a victim. That doesn't make for ideal friend material. So no. Batsman Posted February 6, 2014 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Best friends are very much a good thing, but the trick is to be comfortable with yourself, who you are, and essentially be your own best friend. Cause people change as they get older; you'll find you don't like your old friends and vice versa. But if your able to be happy being you, then it doesn't hurt as much and you don't need to rely on them. BUT best friends are amazing cause who else would you go do stupid shit and get into trouble with? Just remember that everything has its time and place and life moves on, but you'll always be able to make new friends. And they don't always leave either, my best friend have been friends for six years and survived breaking up after a two year relationship.
