If you're getting it done professionally, which I strongly suggest, ask them to pierce it with a needle. It is much less painful than the piercing gun, at least in my case. If you do it yourself it's easier to start from the skin inside your mouth and poke outward instead of stab towards your gums. (oh and i'm pretty sure you're talking about captive hoops) different places price differently. i warn you though, take it into consideration about cleaning. it's mostly the maintaining part that you should be worried about anyway.
