Thanksgiving

This is the day that I dread,

Happy is the family, but it?s not how I feel,

Away from home in an unfamiliar place,

Nothing to do but fake a deceiving smile,

Kitchen smells of turkey and other food,

Several people in such a small place,

God hears my plead for time to fly,

I want to rip someone?s heart out and shatter it!

Violence, sacrifice, and thanks,

I cut, I bleed, I cry?

Now I am alone at last,

God?s answered my silent prayers.
