The Devil?s Choke

Scared,

Trembling,

Failure with this true success,

And behold the Devil.

 

Right in front of me,

Face-to-face,

I know he can kill me off,

For he is the one that makes me sin.

 

Merely alike,

His appearance is dark,

Like a shadow,

A figure only of thy mind.

 

Bloody tears stream down my face,

Fear!

I?d like to die more than anything,

But he shall torcher me.

 

There is no place to run,

To run, to hide,

But to stare into thy evil face,

And perish, perish?.

 

I want to scream,

But I have no voice,

As he begins to choke me,

Leaving me to fight this without you?

 

Closing my eyes,

I hope to die quick,

As he lies to me,

Lie after lie after lie!

 

There is no truth in his word,

He can tell me he cares,

But he only cares to see me suffer,

To die, die yet again more slowly?

 

God so help me!

For I?m burning with thee ashes of thy past,

And now all I need is an escape,

And Thy armor to protect me?
