pinupdoll Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Okay, so I'm learing bass guitar. If anyone knows ANYTHING about playing bass, hell, something bout playing guitar that I can direct towards bass, please tell me. I only know two scales. Please and thank you.
ourdarkoath Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 -Scales are very useful to know, but they aren't mandatory to learn. -There's different type of tuning for bass- standard tuning (which is normal tuning), drop d tuning (the e string is tuned down to a d), and the difficult drop a and drop c tuning that require to tune all your strings to different notes. -I notice that alot of screamo bands use either standard or drop d tuning. -You can use either pick or fingers to play bass. It's all preference really. -You can even learn your favorite songs on bass. The best sites for tabs are ultimateguitar, bassmasta, and 911tabs. The tabs usually go by frets on the bass. -0 is open string -And there are bass tutorials and practice tutorials on youtube that might help you Good luck

But thank you.
