Never Returning Home

By: Amanda Augustus

These days are growing longer,

A day without you, tis a day of Hell,

Tis like the earth beneath us-

Is severing, moving farther and farther apart.

I shall just remain still,

Watching as you just slip away,

Listening to thy voices, deaf in my ear,

Watching as the flood waters wash in towards us.

Ready to be drowned in your hate,

Physically tearing myself to pieces,

Preparing myself for the hurt you shall give me,

I know with you I shalt never die, I shall just suffer!

Listening to the song playing over in my head,

The song sure to be played at my funeral,

You shall kill my soul and watch me die,

Hanging in the gallows; tis now thy lovely home.

Guess I?m not so far from home,

Just maybe a step or two,

As much as I to shield thy soul,

I shalt never be ready for a broken heart.

I can only pray that you kill me quickly,

That this ends and you are gone,

But then I see your face and realize-

It?s meant to be?
