An Elegy for my Dad

The title says it all, today was his funeral and I just felt like writing this because my heart tells me too.

 

Ever since I was a little girl you were there

Not my biological father but you.

Thank you for all those wonderful memories

That you were able to give to me.

As a Father you are totally indescribable,

No matter where I was you were there,

No force of nature could withstand you.

I will miss you, your santa belly that

I loved to sleep on and the

big bear hugs that you would give to me

Without any reservations and the stories.

Your stories brought my imagination

To life and uplifted my heart. They

filled me with adventure and exhilaration.

Thank you for being an irreplaceable Dad

And for simply being there. I can't

Thank You enough. I love you.
