JohnLikesJane Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 A creek on the stairs, A voice in the dark. I feel the fright ignite a spark. It lingers as it moves, skin cold as night. It's shadow follows me into plain sight. "Who goes there?" I ask, But there is no answer. I button my coat and try to walk faster. The whispers grow louder. The footsteps pound. All at once, there's a terrible sound. A shriek, a cry, An old man's grumble. I start to run, only to stumble. I am lifted up and pinned to the wall. In the black, there's a face; The most beautiful of all. It's a man, but with eyes that glisten in thirst. His teeth are sharp fangs. I'm expecting the worst. There's blood on his chin, And that's when I see: He followed me here. He wants to kill me. I close my eyes as he leans in for a bite. I try not to scream with all of my might. My neck is bare, awaiting his kiss; That murderous, deadly feeling of bliss. "Who goes there," he mocks. I begin to cry. "Shh," he says. "You're only going to die." His cool breath brushes past my skin. I feel my heartbeat fasten within. There's a stinging of pain, A sensation so small. Slower, and slower, I let myself fall. My blood is drained. I can no longer brawl. My vision goes black.. And that is all.
