We are the kids who are left to die. We are the kids that fight for everything, and still end up losing. We are the kids that wander the streets hoping someone will find us. We are the kids that steal our parent’s liquor when we’re depressed. We are the kids that know drugs and shit are bad, but we still yearn to try them just once. We are the kids that see something ugly and unfit to live when we look in the mirror. We are the kids that dream big and end up small. We are the kids who hide not because we’re antisocial, but because no one will find us. We are the kids who draw what we feel, not what we’re told. We are the kids that run off wishing someone would care enough to bring us home. We are the kids who hide our battle scars under bands so we aren’t criticized. We are the kids that live in a fantasyland because reality is too painful. We are the kids that want to rip out are hearts and yell at them for being too stupid. We are the kids who never show others our talents because we’re afraid others won’t like it. We are the kids that never talk in class because it seems like someone can always prove your “opinion” wrong. We are the kids that starve ourselves because we don’t want to gain weight. We are the kids that were deemed “misfits”, “freaks”, “losers”, and “outcasts.” We are the kids that wish upon a shooting star, knowing that their wish will never come true. We are the kids who come from a broken home, and the ones whose homes are destroyed. We are the kids that blame themselves for the shit that’s going on in their life, even when it isn’t always them. We are the kids that write, “LOVE” on our arms. We are the kids that cry ourselves to sleep every night and wake up with tear stained cheeks. We are the kids that stare at the Christmas lights outside our bedroom. We are the kids that never made it. We are the kids that will never be missed.
