You can get addicted to a certain sorrow

The kind that drips into your bloody veins

Like the tears they claim you've stopped crying

When your eyes are only wetter from the sorrow's stain

You can crave a special type of saddness

That constricts your mind like the tales you still weave

And after all this time they're assured you're not lying

But you've only gotten better as the wanting turns to need

Whoever said that sorrow was just a feeling

Has been deprived of their blessed dose

Those who are deaf to the drug's demanding

Are the ones who need a fix the most

I know I'm a junkie of this seductive posion

And when I'm consumed it's the happiest I'll be

I never knew that sorrow was a drug

Untl it chained itself to the heart of me
