The Darkness

The dark encompasses me

In its cold embrace

Holding me for eternity

My heavy heart no longer races

Broken and shattered

 

The darkness stopped my heart

Stopped my breath

Stopped my life

And now all that’s left

Is the darkness crowding me

 

The darkness is all consuming

Not letting me rest

Just leaving me hanging

There in the midst of darkness

Teasing me with the occasional light

 

Dangling hope in front of me

Only to snatch it away from me

Teasing with the light

To only replace it with the night

Pure and endless darkness

 

Floating in the darkness

I struggle to escape

I fight my hardest

To only find myself

Back at the beginning

 

I want to die

I want to live

Either way I want to escape

This never-ending darkness

My own personal living Hell
