Darkness all around me

surrounded by all the hatred and fear

when will i see the light in this place?

and feel its warmth upon my face

too many months have gone by

i sit here and watch time fly

all pain and anger inside me

turning into bitterness

no one understands what i go through

no one takes the time to see the real me

the potential of what i could be

i will stay in the darkness

for i have learned my place

this is where i belong

this is who i am

this is who i have become

you have made me this way
