Erasmas Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Th One You Left Behind: The world has enough time. I pass it on my own. The broken words that seem to rhyme Guide me to my home. The lesson's written clearly, So you'd think that I would learn, But I still hold your memory dearly, Even though that bridge has burned. The ocean and the waves don't change their motion when I'm blue, And birds don't stop to ask if I'm okay. The world is unaware that all I do is think of you, And it kills me that your voice won't go away. I tried falling out of love with you, but I can't escape my mind. I'll always be one you left behind. I'm something of a fool, Pretending you're still here, And playing out the endless duel: My desire and my fear. The mirror tells the story Of a boy's imagined past He found happiness in a hurry -- And lost it just as fast. The ocean and the waves don't change their motion when I'm blue, And birds don't stop to ask if I'm okay. The world is unaware that all I do is think of you, And it kills me that this life won't go away. I tried falling out of love with you, but I can't escape my mind. I'll always be one you left behind.

Erasmas Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 High praise indeed; thank you. I absolutely hate the title, but was too tired to stay awake any longer and think of a better one. Any suggestions would be welcome!
Erasmas Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Also, sorry I haven't been around much, Ash. I have just had a lot going on. XD I will try to get back into things in the next week or so.
