This life,

It’s black and white.

The pretty, the bad,

The good, ugly,

Dark but light,

Day and night,

A rainbow monochromatic,

A billion shades,

It’s black and white,

This life…

“Vital Signs”

 

A bleeding heart,

A beating heart,

The light – it blinds me,

The dark – it binds me,

But, I can feel my heart beat.

 

This drowning world,

This smothering world,

The light – pains me,

The dark – it maims me,

But, I can hear myself breath.

 

A painful world,

A joyous word,

The light – it guides me,

The dark – it hides me,

And, I’m not ready to leave.
