I thought it was a joke

But then I began to believe

You found it romantic

And kissed me deep

I meant what I said

Your giggle and smile

Were the best I've ever seen

You convinced me

We should have sex

We made love by the beach

You fell asleep in my arms

As I whispered

“I'll love you forever”

I woke up and you were gone

I called you

You didn't pick up

I came to your door

You never answered

You ignored me

Until nine months later

You came to me

With a newborn in your hands

You said

“This is your son,

Time to be a man”

I opened the door wider

You saw my new girlfriend

You started to cry and ran away

Last I saw

You were on the news

Drowned our baby

And killed yourself too . . .
